About Me
As a new professional in the cybersecurity field, I'm eager to contribute my skills in network security, threat analysis, and ethical hacking. My journey began with a strong interest in understanding how systems can be compromised and, more importantly, how to secure them. I am a dedicated problem-solver and a quick learner, always seeking new challenges to expand my knowledge and practical experience.
Why Cybersecurity?
My interest in cybersecurity really started around mid-2018, thanks to an introduction from my wife. With my technical background from work, I was already familiar with the tech world, but cybersecurity took that interest to a deeper level. As I began learning more about the field, I was immediately drawn to its fast-paced and challenging nature. What excites me most is the continuous learning involved, always staying one step ahead of new threats and keeping up with the latest technologies. For me, cybersecurity brings together technology, complex problem-solving, and constant innovation, and I’m truly excited to build a career grounded in these principles.
How My Cybersecurity Journey Began
Even though my interest in cybersecurity started in mid-2018, life had its own plans. Some unexpected personal matters came up, and my studies had to go on hold. Then, the pandemic hit, and we had the joy of welcoming a new family member, so my main focus shifted to being a dad and taking care of my family. A few years later, when things finally started to settle down, I began looking for a school that would fit my schedule, balancing a full-time job and family commitments.
In June 2023, I found a great match at Seneca College and enrolled part-time. To get myself ready for classes, I did some prep work and stumbled upon this awesome video tutorial on YouTube: The Cyber Mentor's 12-hour Ethical Hacking Course . It was super helpful in getting me up to speed and deepened my interest in the field.
